Holisty in ChatGPT
Plan in your chat. Run your timer in Holisty.
Ask for interval training, progressive rest, supersets or circuits. The Holisty plugin validates the workout, saves a share and returns a timing summary and a link. Open it on Android, review the workout and press Start when you are ready.
Is the plugin available to everyone?
The plugin is currently in private testing, not in the public ChatGPT directory. If you already have Holisty connected in ChatGPT, follow the steps below. Otherwise, use our Use with AI page: its existing prompt-based flow works without the plugin with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Choosing an AI in Holisty does not install or connect a plugin.
Why use the plugin instead of the setup prompt?
The prompt teaches your AI how to write a Holisty link. The plugin lets ChatGPT ask Holisty to create one. Both approaches can prepare a workout. The difference is how reliably and conveniently the plan gets from your conversation into the app.
In the prompt-based flow, you send the technical instructions and the AI writes a URL with the workout settings inside it. Holisty checks that link when you open it. With the plugin connected and selected, ChatGPT sends structured workout data to Holisty, which validates it, calculates the timing, stores the share and returns its actual link.
- Less setup in your chat: ask for the workout without pasting the long link-format instructions. The connected tools already describe the data Holisty accepts.
- Checks before you open the app: the server validates the workout and returns its calculated duration before giving you a successful result. This reduces dependence on the AI getting URL syntax and timing arithmetic right by itself.
- Short links for detailed sessions: exercises, blocks and notes stay in the saved workout rather than making the URL longer with every detail. Normal workout size limits still apply.
- Follow-ups based on the saved workout: ChatGPT can retrieve what the link actually contains, then create a revised share when you ask to change the timings. It does not have to rely only on its earlier written description.
Keep the prompt method when it suits you. It works without installing the plugin and also supports Claude and Gemini. Its inline timer links do not create a saved workout share on our server. The plugin’s saved shares need internet to load, are readable by anyone with the link and expire after 30 days.
In short: choose the plugin for less technical setup, server-checked timing and easier sharing and follow-ups. It does not automatically make the exercise advice better, guarantee that every response is correct, or start the workout for you. Review the plan either way.
What can I do with the plugin?
- Create interval timers: choose work and rest times, number of sets and an optional warm-up.
- Use progressive rest: make rest longer or shorter between sets, with a minimum rest time.
- Build supersets, circuits and multi-block sessions: combine exercises with their own timings, repeat rounds and set rests between exercises, rounds and blocks.
- Keep exercise details: include names, reps, weights and execution notes. These are instructions to read; the timer runs by time, not by counting your reps.
- Check and share a workout: get its calculated duration, timing summary, expiry and a link to open in Holisty.
- Retrieve or adapt a shared workout: provide an existing link to read it, or ask for different exercises or timings to create a new version with a new link.
What does it not do?
The plugin does not start or control your phone remotely, count reps, track weights lifted, or log a completed session in your account. It cannot read your private workout history, edit your saved routines or manage Holisty’s Focus, Sounds, Breathe or Mobility sections. ChatGPT helps propose the plan; the current Holisty tools only create and read shared timed workouts. They are not a medical assessment service.
From conversation to workout
- Select Holisty in your ChatGPT conversation. The plugin must already be connected to your account. Opening ChatGPT alone does not select it.
- Describe the workout. Include the exercises, work and rest times, number of sets or rounds, and any warm-up. ChatGPT sends the workout to Holisty to validate and save. Review any confirmation ChatGPT asks you to approve before creating the share.
-
Review the result and open the link. Check the exercises, timing summary
and expiry. A shared link looks like
holisty.app/w/…. Holisty prepares the timer; it never starts automatically. You choose when to press Start.
Requests to try
You do not need a special command or timer syntax. Describe your goal in your own words, mention Holisty and say you want a workout link. Start with your available time and equipment, or specify every interval yourself. These are examples you can copy and adapt.
- Let ChatGPT propose a session: “I have about 20 minutes and only a mat. Suggest a full-body interval workout, show the actual total duration and create it in Holisty.” ChatGPT proposes the exercises; Holisty validates the timing data, not whether the routine is suitable for your health.
- Set up a precise HIIT timer: “Create a HIIT timer in Holisty: eight sets of 40 seconds of work and 20 seconds of rest, with 10 seconds of preparation. Start with work and leave out the final rest.”
- Pair exercises in a superset: “Create a Holisty superset: four rounds of 45 seconds of press then 40 seconds of curls, no rest between exercises and 90 seconds between rounds. No warm-up or final rest.”
- Repeat a circuit: “Create a four-round squat and plank circuit in Holisty: 40 seconds per exercise, 20 seconds between exercises, 60 seconds between rounds, no warm-up or final rest.”
- Mix timings in one session: “Make one Holisty session with two blocks: first, three rounds of squats and rows, 45 seconds each and 60 seconds between rounds; then, six rounds of mountain climbers, 20 seconds work and 10 seconds rest. No rest between squats and rows, 2 minutes between blocks, no warm-up or final rest.”
- Shorten rest progressively: “Create five 45-second work sets in Holisty. Start rest at 60 seconds, reduce it by 10 seconds after each set, with a minimum of 20 seconds. No warm-up or final rest.” You can also ask for rest to increase each set.
- Keep instructions with an exercise: after creating a squat workout, ask “Add ‘8 reps’, ‘12 kg’ and ‘controlled movement’ to the squat exercise and create a new Holisty link.” These are labels to read, not automatic rep counting or weight tracking.
What can I ask after creating a workout?
- “Show me the exact workout in that Holisty link.”
- “Change the rest to 60 seconds and create a new link.”
- “Keep the exercises, use three rounds and add 30 seconds of preparation.”
- “Show me the timing summary for the workout in this link.” Then paste a real share link.
Continue in the same chat so ChatGPT has the previous workout, or paste its actual link. Holisty can retrieve a share while it is available; it cannot search your private history or restore an expired share. Asking for changes creates a new link and leaves the original intact. It does not update a saved routine in your account.
General questions such as “What is a superset?” do not need the plugin’s tools or a new share. A successful creation should give you the real workout link, timing summary and expiry. Review the exercises and times before opening it and pressing Start yourself.
What is shared?
Anyone with the workout link can read it. Shared workouts expire 30 days after creation and may also be removed. Do not put personal or medical information in a shared workout. The plugin creates and reads shared workouts; it cannot access your private Holisty account, saved routines or workout history.
This expiry applies to the plugin’s saved /w/ shares, not to the older
/timer links that contain their timing parameters in the URL.
If the link opens in your browser
- Update Holisty from Google Play so your app supports shared workouts.
-
In Holisty, open Settings → Workout links. The optional setup assistant
checks Android’s link settings. You can also open Android Settings → Apps → Holisty → Open
by default, enable supported links and select
holisty.app. Wording can vary between phones. - Return to Holisty and check again. If ChatGPT’s browser keeps the link inside a web page, try that page’s Open in Holisty button. Large workouts may require the latest Android app.
An internet connection is needed to load a saved workout. Once prepared, the timer runs on your device; you do not need to keep ChatGPT open. If the link is expired or unavailable, ask for a new one rather than expecting an app update to restore it.
